Fall Pottery Classes:
The fall classes will make available basic instruction in working with clay, decoration, glazing and firing pottery. With a maximum enrollment of 8 people, participants can proceed at their own pace, so beginners are welcome.
Open to ages 12 and up, beginner to intermediate.

Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 9:00 pm

The classes will include a 25/22 lb. bag of clay, the firing and glaze materials. The studio has tools and brushes for student use. Participants should bring a small bucket and an old towel. Open studio time is on Saturdays from 9:30 until 3:45.

Raku firing at Studio Sales
Bring your bisque for glazing in the AM and firing in the PM. Studio glazes are provided. Clay purchased at Studio Sales can be bisqued at the studio for no extra charge.

Kiln Use and Maintenance:
A popular classroom presentation on proper firing techniques for electric kilns. Discussion will include firing with digital controllers, kilnsitters and pyrometric cones. There will also be instruction on simple maintenance and troubleshooting that will help you to keep your kiln at peak performance.

The Pottery Studio
The studio has 8 electric potter’s wheels, 3 electric kilns, tile press and clay extruder. There is also a raku kiln and wood fired kiln out back. We use a stoneware clay in the classes as well as my own studio glazes and some commercial colors. There is storage for each students weekly output.
Class Materials & Open Studio
Participants can attend either the day or evening to make up an 8 week block. First come first serve, I can only provide 7 spots per individual class! Studio will be open on Saturdays for class participants - one Saturday for each class signed into. Clay will be $20 per 25 lb. of #112 or 22 lb. of Tucker Mid Sm. Stone for class participants. Clay price covers the cost of bisque, glazes and glaze firiing.
Open studio for the general public is available for a flat fee of $15 per hour. Clay, glazes and firing are not included.
