Welcome to Studio Sales Pottery, and our Web site!
Studio News as of August 2006
I am reworking the scheduling of the pottery classes to a 7 week format. I have had feedback that a 10 week commitment is too long and students feel like they are wasting money on missed classes. I have always tried to have time available to make up classes and will continue to do that when possible. Registration can be made for one or both sessions from this form.
The pottery classes have included open studio on Saturday and this will continue. I am going to add Tuesday evening, 4pm – 8:30pm to the open studio time. I feel that personal time at the wheel is when a student picks up more of the process and would like to make more options available. Most Tuesdays I will be in studio, working on pots. I am also going to ask that students purchase a tool kit of their own - $12.00.
Studio Sales Pottery is a working and teaching pottery studio, craft gallery, and pottery supply business located in western New York. Pottery classes for all levels are offered in the fall, winter and spring, and our gallery offers fine pottery for purchase.

The stoneware that is made at Studio Sales Pottery is a durable, non-toxic pottery. The glazes are lead and barium free and safe for use in ovens and dishwashers. A hand made piece of pottery will function best if preheated with the oven, but pieces will withstand going from room temperatures into a heated oven. Hand made pots should not be taken from a refrigerator or freezer and put into an oven! The Raku pottery made at Studio Sales Pottery is a decorative work and not meant for any kind of food preparation or service.
In 1999, Studio Sales Pottery built a wood fired kiln, a "noborigama". Noborigama is a Japanese term for a kiln with more than one chamber. From warm earth tones to glossy crystalline glazes on rich, durable clay surfaces, these pots and sculptures are some of Studio Sales' best work to date.
